Fromm Winery is another example of the international mix that has become contemporary Marlborough. The owners are Swiss couple Georg and Ruth Fromm who have a winery in southeast Switzerland. While in New Zealand in the early 90's, they met Swiss winemaker Hätsch Kalberer and started a new winery in Marlborough. Unlike the other Marlborough producers, their emphasis is on red wine, especially Pinot Noir. Only a little Sauvignon Blanc is produced (from sourced grapes). The New Zealand wines are marketed as "LaStrada". Great attention is paid to the quality vineyards and two single-vineyard designation Pinot's are produced : Fromm Vineyard and Clayvin Vineyard.
