Originally developed as Bloomfield Vineyards by David Bloomfield in the early 1980's, and marketed as Solway, the winery was sold in 1997 and became Solstone. It was sold again in 2001 to native New Zealander Elizabeth Barrett-Hackel and her Canadian husband Lloyd Hackel. The operation evolves with each re-birth. In addition to the Solstone wines, they feature Celebration Wines & Labels; personalized and special event labels for their wine. They also have a restaurant on site, called Seasons, and are developing the grounds for concerts and picnicing.
